Llangoed

When Ruthin Craft Centre pruned their Paper Birch trees earlier in the year – I asked what they were going to do with the pruned branches – and was told I could collect what I like. I fitted 8 into my car.
This is the first installation I made with them.
I used both black and white porcelain to make organic shapes vaguely inspired by fungi – but not identifiable as any one form. I pressed shale into the porcelain before firing.
The Sculpture trail inside the Aberlleiniog woods was postponed due to high winds – here they sit in sheltered grounds in Llangoed itself, alongside a number of sculptural pieces by other artists.
